It's getting pretty wild here now. Hoping to get out in the elements soon and get some readings

I have never seen the sky so dark and orange. Not sure if video is picking up the colours

Just had a friend post a photo from Eastbourne. Lovely blue skies over there. Quite summery, in fact.

There's a certain amount of cognitive dissonance in trying to picture the weather as a whole across the British Isles at the moment.

Indeed, I'm just a short distance along the coast from Eastbourne and just got back from a morning on the beach here. It's clouded over in the last hour but until then it was glorious.

Barely a  breath of wind, blue skies and the temperature was 21.5c. A few folk were swimming in the sea.

Seen an orange sun here... and a few manipulated orange landscapes too

Point a camera at the sun and it underexposes everything around it - Ophelia or not (-:

next pass over some of us soon, but what we'll be able to see will depending on its camera orientatio

Was very cloudy up to about an hour ago here in Leeds , which started to clear with a very orange sun poking through the mist / dust.  Its now brilliant sunshine but there is a distinct smokey smell in the air.

Amazing to see just how quickly the skies went from being the luminous orange with a red-sun, to now blue-skies and back to the eye-dazzling sunshine once more. All in the space of 45 minutes. Looking eastwards towards Sheffield I can see the layers of sand-particles within the front.

Wow. Taken with an I phone just before it clouded over! Looks fake but isn't.

It does look like it is pushing due north now, wobbles!

Getting decidedly orange here in Hailsham, E. Sussex. Looks more like a mid-afternoon in Winter. (Lens is a terrible mess since I dropped it on the beach during a storm chase previously, hence the blurry bits!)

Very strange sky over central London right now.  It's been turning increasingly yellowy orange, but now everything is really dark orange.  Very eerie.  Never seen a sky like it at this time of day!
