Given that the winds were to be at their worst around Co Cork, it doesn't look as bad as some thought then? 

A few trees down and minimal power outages.

Edit: Just saw post about a casualty & January Snowstorm's post, obviously it is bad then.

Even up here in co. Durham (NE England) the sky has a very slight tinge to it and its just all foggy looking.  Really strange.   Very very still aswell...  Also noticed a touch burning smell from them fires

Bit off topic to Ophelia.....but if anyone has looked on windy.com.....do they notice a second cone of wind coming in from the west?

Heh well lets hope this is as close to nuclear war sky we ever get! Big gust of wind just now, leaves tumbling down... Doom on lol
