Time of photo 10.34 BST.
Ok, now not a brilliant photo I know, but I’m just out with the hound on his mid morning walkies, when I looked up at the sky, and saw that the sun was blood red! :shok:
Now I’ve seen orange coloured suns at this hour, but only on hot sticky sultry summers days before a big thunderstorm breaks out.
But never a red sun.
Me thinks that hurricane Ophelia is going to make this an interesting day! Stay safe people.

By the way, morning ev:)eryone

14 flood warnings for southern England ( Storm Surge?)

Well there's no rain about so I'd say that's probable. I do hope those in Ireland have been full!y warned about the possibility as they will have a bigger problem in that regard.

Morning @shadowfax
It is very spooky... Due to the Saharan sand apparently.
This is gonna be an interesting day me thinks.
Stay safe up there. :good:

Looks weaker than expected on XC weather or it's running behind schedule.

The weirdest sky I've ever seen here in Bristol. It started out as a pale gold, hazy colour, and now looks like really dirty, heavy yellow cotton wool. Inside the house, it looks like we're just short of nightfall and outside there's lots of rubbish skittering about on the road as it's recycling day and a few of the neighbour's bags blew over before the van got here. No rain. Despite the wind, the air is strangely warm. I don't know if it's my imagination as I've not heard anyone else mention it, but for the last hour or so I've been able to smell something kind of sulphuric, but kind of like something burning too. We're only on the edge of it here - I pity those stuck in the middle.

Wind picking up here in Antirm, Northern Ireland, not that strong at the moment. Sky very yellow here too.

Plenty of disruption already tho, Schools closed, concert venues and buildings closing at 12pm, shops and businesses closed or closing early.  Major disruption at all airports with majority of flights cancelled now and most ferries cancelled.

I did think that but looking at Argepe, 70mph seems about right for 11am - the really bad stuff probably hitting around 1pm? Still a bit concerned that W Wales may be close to 90mph by early evening too.

Very  strange outside my office here in Central Belt, Scotland... eerie sky colour due to Saharan dust and fast moving clouds going opposite directions.

Hope this can be seen in this video clip... Yet the trees are hardly moving..
