I haven't seen any fog this month because I am usually asleep in bed when fog forms.

Morning Lassie,

Do you operate an O.M.I. (October Mist Index)?

Noticed a bit of mistiness in the Atmosphere, when I saw my Wife off at the front door, at 6.30 this Morning.

But even that's dispersed now, so just 1/2 Point on the O.M.I.!!

Regards,

Tom.   :hi:

There was some fog in parts of Cheshire and Bristol this morning. Manchester had some mist which soon lifted.

Probably means you're in for some snow grain events this winter, hope you don't get snow grained in.

Don't despair lassie, a 48 hour chilly spell is about to begin. This is already better than the entire last winter! Lol

We seem to get so little fog these days. I remember some real pea-soupers as well as freezing fogs with lots of rime, but we just don't seem to get them anymore. Anyone else share that opinion? Maybe it's just down to the area of the country I live.

When I was a teenager in Greece, I had an image of England as a very foggy country. This was based on films and books. When I came here in 1997, I noticed that fog is quite rare as it tends to be windy. On top of that, like you say, there has been a reduction of foggy days/nights in recent years.
