I'm glad to see Ryanair (or more Michael O'Leary) finally getting what's been coming to them for ages. Despicable company who take the mick out of their staff and run a borderline dangerous operation.

So the annoying little g*t Mr O’Leary, who threatened dire things after the BREXIT vote, is now going to invest heavily in Southend airport.

Obviously decided to spread his annoying firms service to even more people. Even though he was going to withdraw from the UK  market.

But obviously if people wish to spend their hard earned cash on a rubbish airline they can obviously get on with it.

From my past experience I would never fly willing with Ryanair ever again.

Having said that if it improves the UK economy all to the good but what do those who live under the flight path think?

BA were appalling the last time I flew with them, certainly nothing superior about them but for a much greater cost. Got the misfortune of flying with them this summer. I hope I don't get one of their ancient planes again...

Flew with Delta for my storm chasing trip. Far cheaper and a much better service with planes that had actually been refurbished this century.

Many years ago, I went to The Canaries on a BA flight and, after smelling food for what seemed like hours, the portions were so minuscule that we'ed have been better-off had they just given everyone a jar of Gerber baby food!

The last time we were on an ancient plane with an entertainment system about as old as me. But the worst part was a result of the understaffing. It took 6 hours to be offered a cup of tea. Also, despite it being an afternoon flight, the cabin crew made us keep the shutters down. Nobody was needing to sleep, obviously, but we all had to sit in darkness for 9 hours. I presumed this was an attempt to get us to sleep so we didn't bother the cabin crew. Ended up feeling even more wretched than normal after a long flight.

People assume that because they're expensive, BA are better. They ain't!

I only ever fly private, dahling!

But seriously, BA were completely mediocre, even when I was able to fly Silver. Easyjet were just as good, if not better.

People slate them but I really enjoy flying Virgin Atlantic.

I flew with Virgin last year, best flight I've ever been on. The food was genuinely nice, a spicy curry!

I recommend Norwegian, standard class is a bit cramped but the service is good and the planes are brand new. Their premium economy is really good, and for the flights I took at least, still came in cheaper than BA economy.

May use them for Denver next year, but the only snag is that they fly from Gatwick, a pain to get to for much of the population.

I hate them all so I charter my own plane.

I even hate chartered planes. I just sit in the corner of a blacked out room and watch videos of the places I'd like to go to on a virtual reality headset. Much cheaper, but the food ain't great.

All going well with Ryanair?

Special offers of take your money and let you enjoy a crowded tour around an airport.

Fly? Why would you want to?  Let us ensure your aggravation and serious upset by cancelling your flight and give you no back up. Let alone compensation

I feel very sorry for the poor staff told to confront the not unreasonably annoyed customers.

As far as the smug little O’leary I am sure he does not care a thing.

Another reason not to fly Ryanair...

I really hope people vote with their wallets and this nasty firm suffers.

So now Ryanair is going to charge for anything put into the overhead lockers. Nothing to do with making money apparently. It is only to speed things up. How long have you sat on a plane not going anywhere?

Seems a load of spheroids in my opinion. Money grabbing monopoly comes to mind.

Hardly a pop on a bus and go down the town experience. What is he going to do with the hours you have to spend at airports checking in and hanging round.
