Difn't that happen with irma too, well of the coast of mexico that time, but similar mag.

Maria's almost at landfall. Outer eyewall is almost completely closed, 18 miles wide.

Will be interesting to see the path Maria takes over PR. if it continues on its current path and exit North West as per ECM then it will encounter the mountains of PR which may weaken it somewhat. If it tracks more northward then it will be impacted less.

IS the NWS radar? I thought it was based in San Jaun ?

No it's further south. You can just about make out the black hole where the site is, keep going south from San Juan until you get to the outside of the green flash flood warning boxes...

It says San Juan, but it's not actually in San Juan!

Silly question I know, but has anyone got a linkie to a streaming webcam in the area, including Turks and Caicos? I can't find a thing, but I have a real blind spot when it comes to finding them. Left to my own devices I usually find one that updates once a fortnight... sigh...

You could try Facebook's live map. There's some pretty severe conditions being broadcast from various places in Puerto Rico atm.
