Been waiting on them to name Aileen since yesterday. Looks like I'm getting the rain while you all enjoy the wind!

Will be worth watching how it deepens in the North Sea once Aileen has finished with UK

Is this a recent development? I noticed how model such as the GFS were bringing the centre of the low pressure over the northern extent of the amber area originally

Agree? 70 mph gusts in some parts and heavy rain with trees in full foliage?

More of fish spinner according to GFS. East England and Norfolk may see some strong winds which could cause issues. Channel up mid fifties. For us mid forties so nothing of note.

Local forecast going against GFS saying 60 mph. Like summer GFS Storms Local forecast not local won every time I think. I suspect local forecast will downgrade later on.

Just looked at the hourly GFS and that does give us briefly a spell in lower fifties. Still the low is developing so it may be stronger than the GFS shows.

According to the map a few posts up, I'm due for up to 45mph gusts tonight, so shouldn't cause any real damage which is good. Wind already starting to pick up a bit now though...

GFS has this very early developing stinger further south on the 12z.

Heavy rain here in Snowdonia for the last couple of hours. Wind not too bad yet but gusts upward of 35-40 at nearby weather obs stations.
