Western Greenland is the part to watch. We want the isobars here to go vertical (pretty much as circled) to get the WAA up into Greenland. If this happens then the high inflates and we get decent blocking.

The next step is for the high to "topple" but with low pressure over the UK/to the East, it has Scandinavia in it's sights.

The ecm has the first wave running along the Channel Friday 00 with rain along the SW and S which clears east by Friday morning leaving the UK in a cold, unstable north westerly and wintry showers, Meanwhile the next front tact east through central France and into Germany Saturday morning bringing some very inclement weather there and into norther Italy.

Needless to say a very nast looking day tomorrow in many places.

Yes gets better every frame.

This is as close as we have been to getting a cut off Greenland/Icelandic high.

Stella run.

This would be proper cold if it was late December or Jan, the cold uppers may be hitting the UK by 216 however.. in an Arctic feed I'm not sure you need -6/-8 uppers to see snow falling at lowers altitudes though!!

Sorry, can't post charts but this is a superb run with so much promise down the line. Setting up for a prolonged cold spell

To coin a phrase from my youth....'flippin' 'eck Tucker'!

Forgetting the detail, it’s pretty darn beautiful to look at!

Good looking run from ecm this evening without doubt.imo its too clean in its building of heights intowards the greenland area.looking across the output today across the board and id say ecm is at the extreme end regarding amplification ete.middle ground prob for me which would be still pretty good going into winter.
