We reached 0.4 in Greenlaw on Tuesday - I don't know if we actually managed frost - but I suspect we probably did, because the temperature fell very fast.

Hi Jo, were you meant to say Saturday night. Its now looking quite mild for most, sheltered eastern parts might drop down into mid single digits. Next week however, offers more frost promise if we do manage to see heights developing over the country - as ever will depend on how much cloud we see. Would be nice to see a frost next week to start October.

The very early hours of Sunday morning could herald frosts for Northern parts of Scotland with a nippy wind chill to.

Indeed Friday morning looks like a possible widespread ground frost in my area, with a risk of the frost hollows dropping below freezing.

yep , looking forward to an early start on the Wolds looking for some ground frost at dawn ..........Winter is coming !

Hi Jeremy, whilst not on your side of the Wolds you may be interested that I have a weather station set up Thixendale which is a great frost hollow, one to keep an eye on for cold minima through the next 6 months.

For the people interested in Scotland - you might like to know I have a page here: http://www.bordersweather.co.uk/wxleague.php which tracks the top 25 maximums and the top 25 minimums. It uses a mix of Personal Stations, Road Traffic stations (you can't see the temperature of these, but you can see the position in the league - because they don't want the data published), Met Office stations and Airports. I always find it handy (yes sometimes exciting too) for watching the temperature fall across Scotland.

Think the quietness in this thread says it all! Our current lowest since solstice is 5.3c on 22/09.

Think it will be mid November before we register an air frost here.

Lowest since the equinox here is 7.1°C on the 22nd, but that was a one off. Conversely, the highest has been 16.9°C last night.

This thread is likely to remain dormant for some time I fear! Getting minima below the teens is a struggle at the moment and will continue to be for the next week across much of southern Britain. I just want some chilly weather, that's all!

Minima of 10.2 and 9.9°C respectively over the last 2 nights. I mention this as it is quite unexpected.
