WXChasing are awaiting landfall, and appear to be *on* marco island.

Either they're braver than Jeff, more stupid than Jeff, or know something that Jeff doesn't.

Jeff thinks he's getting battered by 120 to 140 winds though.

I don't think we can trust Jeff. Jeff exaggerates, and doesn't check recon findings (highest recent findings more in the 100-120 or so range)

I don't know that he doesn't for a fact...

... only that I'm getting sick of him bigging up how amazingly strong the wind is by saying "it's gonna be 120 to 140", or "here comes that really bad stuff... 120 to 140", despite that currently being unsupported by recon over the last few hours.

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIATCUAT1+shtml/101858.shtml?

Just checked NHC - even there, in a 1500z update, they said:

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS...120 MPH

Re: Jeff, you can't blame the guy though, he clearly "enjoys" his hobby (if thats what it is) and his coverage / comentary of whats going on followed loosely is good, but that other guy on Marco, he got some awesome footage of the power of nature there.

I wonder how he felt sitting in that.

I fancy Jeff gets overexcited more than anything.

Compare and contrast with the guy in the WXChasing stream who's just sitting there calmly going "Oh yeah.. if you're wondering what I'm doing, I've just gotta keep the nose of the car into the wind".

That's one cool customer.
