Evening all :)

While NAVGEM follows GFS, GEM continues the westward drift and after striking Cuba, the storm emerges into the Gulf and is re-energised west of Florida before turning north and impacting the Florida-Louisiana coast west of Tallahassee.

Looks as though the 12Z ECM may be following GEM so two distinct options now on the table.

So with the EWRC now ending we should expect a challenge on Allen over the next few hours!!!

Latest ECM has it hitting Cuba going over the whole country then going directly North into the Western side of Florida. Would be a disaster of epic proportions for Cuba, but would take a lot of the power out of it.

Still far to early to call though and given GFS has it about 400 miles further North its very uncertain.

32c sea temps showing in many parts of the Caribbean Sea, the anomaly is 2c to 3c above the norm so Irma will just keep on going!!!

It's not sounding any more hopeful!

MoreEye continues to warm now +20°C ... if convection flares or clouds cool (more pink) then Hurricane #Irma should reach 200 mph.

Waves already reaching far up the beach and no sea wall to stop it

That seems to me that the models keep trying push the hurricane path further westwards into the gulf.  If it came true this ones going to be a monster, worser than Harvey. :(

10pm update. No change still 185mph. However no recon either. It looks like a plane took off went around the outside and then swooped off to Bermuda.

Pilot: "Wait, you want me to fly into THAT...?!"

I may be wrong, but on radar it looks like an outer band?

Recon found 916mb.. GFS was correct on intensity even if it's cowed on track.
