I would think 1st June, the only one I can find is the 2012 one which was published on that date.

Its been a pretty sunny May here as Weatherguru pointed out. We havent had below average sunshine since February.

This year has been very close to average sunshine-wise up until now.  May seriously looks like it could be the dullest on record based on the current forecast.

The Weather Channel seems to be in agreement with the forecasters over at Accuweather.

"Britain to face lack of heat this summer due to North Atlantic weather phenomenon"

I'm just guessing but I think we will have yet another very poor summer here.  Guesstimated average highs and sun hours for my location. Obligatory well below normal sunshine, especially August.

Jun: 20c, 170 hrs

Jul: 22c, 170 hrs

Aug: 21c, 150 hrs

What a load of freshly dropped tosh that is, id certainly take their 'summery' with a pinch of what they put on fries.

Scaremongering springs to mind.  A lot of the long range are already pointing to warm and dry conditions.

So is the Low pressure and rain this week a blip in a continued pattern of High pressure around the Uk? Hopefully. An interesting fact from May 1976 is that the Uk had above average rainfall. So hopefully a sunny and warm June to come. Maybe something special like this from my personal June favourite-

Fully expecting it to backtrack and we will end up with some 20c overcast crapfest.

i doubt it.. The  high is centred to the south.. to me its gonna get sunnier and warmer  as the week goes on.willl start of with thin layered cloud first thing to  be burnt off by 9/10 am to leave lovely mid morning to afternoon weather.. that's how summer days use to be.. Its looking good  form Monday onwards if you ask me..

26-ish by day and I'm guessing around 16-17c nights? I'll never understand how people look forward to sweating from dawn until dusk.

It's been a long time since we've had a summer that had above average sun.  2014 just about managed it, and 2005 was the last before that!

Maybe the prolonged period of drier than normal weather will boost our chances of early heat this year
