blimey, went away from radar watching for an hour, came back, and it seems a dirty big muticell is heading my way, the northern edge is about 30 miles SSW of me.....can just make out the edge of the anvil in the haze....could be very interesting here in the next hour or two!

Has anybody got any rain rate figures from your own weather stations? I've been scouting around, and surprisingly, the stations I found, the rainfall totals don't look particularly bad under those bright echoes.

Still got all the digits crossed for the southeast tonight.

Me too. At a restaurant in Hythe at the moment so no chance at sky watching. Blitzortung suggesting the storms have very much a N motion at the moment. No hint yet of any E shift. I’m optimistic that cells have developed in the past hour or so then grown upscale. Should be an interesting next few hours.

AcCas forming at mid-levels to the SW of me near Buxton currently, returns now showing up close to Stoke-on-Trent so it's now or never for the NW.

Nothing spectacular here, 22.2mm/hr was the highest just now.

Nonstop lightning and thunder passing West and now NW of Warminster. It's almost the perfect elevated storm except it's come before dark. Although having said that seeing the cloud structure is stunning!

Cracking thunderstorm over Portsmouth right now. Just waiting for the torrential rain, which the radar says is coming?

Hmmmph! Seems my thunderstorms died out over the Isle of Wight and those pesky Southamptoners have nicked them all! Still, I can just about hear them, and the rain is decent at times!! :)

Hi all I'm in highcliff with decent views all around, what I find e encouraging is that everywhere I look there is storm action,  and also a storm out to sea, which I can see the top of so hopefully more to come tonight.

Now if it could just hurry up and get dark that would be fabulous :D

False positive. No precip anywhere near Dover.

What are the chances of that decaying mass popping off some convection ahead of itself and to the east?

Cracking picture! To think I went from Southampton back to Hull today .

Hopefully they will keep going to the North of the M4... more widespread across the South then forecast so maybe more areas of England could get hit.... I hope

Looks like the south has done well with this, kind of as per with set ups like this. Surprised it’s not kicked off up here. Especially with more potential here.
