Just driving home from up north.Just passed through the cell over didcot. Ruddy torrential rain and caught 1 strike out of it.

Just some moderate showery rain here now. It looks like the cells around Manchester have eased. The heavy stuff is over Wales mainly.

Very, very distant thunder just now. :D

Looks like something is trying to kick off just the other side of Ruthin. :)

The radar is showing a lot of activity around you and the whole of North Wales. This should move towards the north midlands and southern Pennines later.

 Nothing here this morning although quite a few strikes as close as 7 miles in all directions but none audible. Guess it's just my year to be unlucky.

Been seeing towers all day at towerhamlets. Heard a rumble an hour ago (confirmed on radar to be above greenwich so was audible here). :) Lots of towers and cells everywhere I look. :D

Have not seen days like this much this summer, a convective day across the board, not just confined to one area, similar to 25 August 2012. Still a few hours left of peak heating and the skies are beginning to look like convective heaven!

 lovely and sunny but so boring here in the convective desolation that is downwind of the Irish sea during daytime.
