Better effort this time, lightning was slightly more visible with some very loud booms. Round three moving in.

We've had 30mm so far, so the rain is definitely the most notable aspect. Torrents of water flowing down my street.

Extraordinary here... Just a typical cloudy cool misty morning, doesn't feel like thunder at all. But it's been constantly rumbling to the west and now we have lightning, heavy rain and constant rolling thunder all around. I'm in Garforth, east of leeds by the way, for some reason I can't see posters locations any more.

Some pretty high strike totals near Leeds, all elevated though i assume so probably looks more impressive on the lightning maps

Just had a storm pass through 8/9 rumbles of thunder, but at 5am I have never heard thunder like it, it was like a huge explosion people even called the police concerned, very strange

At 9.05am I thought, "let's drive towards leeds". "Nah, it'll be gone by then, let's stay put."  I would have been there by now :s

Grimsby and Hull: keep an eye on that little baby near Peterborough

Lots of lightning on the radar, I imagine some good cloud structure on what looks like a squall line. Any pics?

Actually no structure at all, at least not here, just looked like a winter warm sector until the thunder arrived. And even then the crud just got darker! However the best storm for a couple of years here, a good hour where the thunder never stopped, both distant and overhead. Only occasional flashes but some torrential rain! I have a couple of videos if I can manage to upload them I will.

Frequent flashes/rumbles and very heavy rain near Malton again. Went REALLY dark before it started. First time we've ever seen the automatic floodlights around the office come on mid-morning.

Same here I'm in Malton today, gone really dark and heavens have just opened. Some Thunder which is getting nearer from the sound of it.

So last night I didn't have any further storm activity but I'm counting it as a thundery night. :) Always exciting for me wondering if I'm going to get anything and love hearing thunder, even if its distant. Lovely to see other people getting in on the fun last night as well!

As for today, I'm just in the forecast zone, but looking at the radar further north...

Just received the NW Storm Radar app notification for torrential rain in my vicinity, which is correct! That probably explains my other notification for slower than usual traffic in my area. Checked the traffic on googlemaps and it's all slowed down around here - I reckon driving visibility must be very poor at the moment

Storms just passed either side of Doncaster.  Could hear constant distant thunder but no fireworks.  Sky just overcast

I know it's a while off, but there seems to be a potential for some storms here in the SE on Saturday and Sunday.

I've never got notifications to work on the app for some reason.

It was the loudest I've heard here

I couldn't blame some for thinking it was a bomb or explosion the sound went on for a good 15 to 20 seconds

Like what we had here last week. +CG's with an explosion followed by a rumble that went on for 30+ seconds.

Still over 90 strikes per minute with a few now appearing in Cumbria.

No CG, but I just spotted a bright cloud flash on the whitby promenade cam - might be worth keeping an eye on it

Incredible storm just passed over here, chased it from near Easingwold across to Malton, flash flooding on many roads with constant lightning and deafening thunder.

Dropped 20mm in an hour here adding to whats been a very wet summer.

3rd direct hit this summer which isnt bad going for my location.
