I'm in Matlock just now and can see the storm clouds in the distance over Manchester with some deep rumbles to.

Sadly mainly south of Manchester. The city is sliced in half.

There is an intense cell just to the southwest of me.

Had the closest strike so-far this year with a fork hitting just 1/4 mile away. I can see across to the fields from here and the few people out dog-walking made a hasty retreat. Hailstones falling were around pea-sized too so the tops must be starting to get pretty beefy.

Lyme Park getting a intense core passing over 5 mins ago, not sure if there's any hail within it but it's certainly localized on the RADAR. Still hearing it rumbling away as it's moving past New Mills and into Hayfield soon, from there i'll get a better view of it as i'm within some dry-air to the south.

Lovely rumbles coming from this over Daventry,  stopping work outside for 10 minutes.

It seems to me that the line of thundery activity from northeast Wales to south of Manchester and further east is slowly edging northwards.

I have my eyes on the intense cell over Newferry

Was in Hyde 30 mins ago and as I exited theshop, saw a big fork of lightning over towards Glossop. The thunder was around 12 seconds later and quite a bang.

Raining heavy again now but electrical activity seems to be absent.

Just caught a shower in the city centre, indicating that they are edging a bit further north now

Just as you said that lightning seems to have come off from those showers towards the West near Chesterfield. Hoping they push my way

Fingers crossed they keep moving East. I know last time Chesterfield had a good storm a few weeks back but it stopped as it was approaching : P

Well that came to nothing at all. Looks like it broke up as it got here so hardly rained let alone any thunder. Next door just came back from near Ringwood and said they had fairly large hail and frequent lightning for a few minutes as it passed through.
