East of Norfolk and that region seems to really be doing well for storms this year, they may not be many big ones to write home about but just the amount of days that its managed to rumble over that way is impressive compared to normal

Certainly feels like a decent summer for Norwich with many thunder days (lost count) compared with previous years.

Some nice storm cells passed through this morning with rapidly moving scud and some apparent rotation. No lightning visible but several cracks of thunder.

I've counted 6 which isn't a huge number, 4 of those were the "one or two rumbles" variety.

Looks like most of the lightning appears to be in the North Sea , though just as I typed this quite a few strikes have showed up near Grimsby close towards the coast

Hi, yeah there's a storm flashing and rumbling away just off the coast at Spurn currently. Some close strikes in the sea with some loud cracks of Thunder. Light rain as well here

I'm sure that there's a storm to the NW of me heading very slowly NNE but also the line seems to be heading SE again very slowly. I'm I seeing things?

The front is pivoting and will slowly begin to move away to the south east. I'm watching the storms to east with a little interest.

Day 1 Convective Outlook

VALID 06:00 UTC Wed 09 Aug 2017 - 05:59 UTC Thu 10 Aug 2017

ISSUED 04:57 UTC Wed 09 Aug 2017

ISSUED BY: Dan

Ahead of a southward-moving cold front, a slightly higher WBPT airmass combined with forcing from aloft and surface convergence will provide the trigger for a couple of lines of heavy showers or thunderstorms - particularly in a zone from E Suffolk into E Essex, and a separate area in Kent to East Sussex. Saturated profiles and marginal instability suggests lightning activity might not be that widespread, but a low-end SLGT has been issued to better highlight the region at risk. Main impacts will be localised flooding from prolonged torrential downpours - in fact, many models suggest 50-70mm will be possible locally over parts of East Anglia. Funnel clouds and weak tornadoes will once again be possible with this activity.

A few isolated lightning strikes will be possible elsewhere embedded within the frontal rain, while scattered showers are likely to develop to the west of this front, over the West Midlands down to Devon/Somerset in particular.

A bust today? very cloud covered in SE Uk today, just looks like dynamic precipitation, although some areas of rainfall are intensifying, and it is currently P*****G it down.

I've got some half-decent convection where I am:

As for next Tuesday, the Cape is higher than today and yesterday showing some Mild instability more in NW Scotland and N Ireland, however also parts of SE UK and East Anglia. Although GFS 0.25 charts show a band of light patchy rain moving W to E over southern ULK on Tuesday with more activity looking to be further north. However as well know its going to be changing everyday!

I am currently in Canvey island looking south and i believe that some convection is going on to the E of me, supported by this radar image, of some pretty intensne rainfall, as it draws closer to convergence zones, and tiny amount of CAPE in The SE corner, ( S essex, Most of kent and E sussex) Canvey is just W of the heavy precipitation, map has decided not to upload!

Ok forget about the other photo, I just caught this! EDIT: looking at the radar, this is part of a developing potent, slow moving band of showers! ATM it looks like it is running parallel to me, so this is most likely the very edge.
