Dark to the northeast again and thought I heard a faint rumble just now.

Cant see much happening today as the rain is too far West for us and they appear to be moving South, so unless any new cells pop up I think today for us is a bust : P Shae they're not moving North East

I keep thinking I can hear distant thunder from here but someone nearby has spent all afternoon drilling so I can't hear it that clearly.

Posting from my phone as storm just went through here knocked out my broadband and produced an almighty crack of thunder about 14:50 now I have heard thunder before but this was something else and scared me to space and back

Edit - seems to have knocked out virgin services beyond broadband

Wow! Sounds like what we had over here in Limousin last Monday night - some folks here still haven't got their landlines back on...

Well, that was an insane few minutes! 2.8mm of rain in a couple of minutes, rain rate of 122.6mm/hr

The view to the northwest. Also looking dark further west as well.

No lightning i'm afraid. I just fancied doing a slow-mo of the rain.

A beautiful sunny day here, it's like  you are all in another world; but then this WNWerly  always does work better than a regular storm shield ever could.

well that was cool,  a unexpected little storm that brought a lovely structure , a green, hail tint to the clouds (despite not getting any), 1 CG, and 6 rumbles. Not bad!

Had a "thunder shower" earlier - wouldn't call it a thunderstorm meself (but it was part of a larger system of heavy showers so I guess it's borderline)...

Happened just as we were about to watch Mike Dennis at a local festival - shameless plug but check him out on YouTube - he was a good sport and carried on anyway and we watched under an umbrella as the thunder rumbled around us, nice little storm :-)

Intense storm passed near to Tamworth earlier this afternoon, I can't actually recall the exact time as I was too busy chasing but I believe around 2pm. I will know the exact time in a bit when I go through the footage. For what looked like a fairly weak storm day this one was quite a bruiser with pea sized hail, big flashes of lightning and cracks of thunder. The hail was so noisy whilst driving through it. Not as strong as the 18th/19th July storm but one of the stronger storms of this season for definite.

I also had my kids with me today and they were filming the hailstones on their phones. They are 13 and 10 and had never seen hail as heavy as today's storm :)

Today also marks the 13th anniversary of my first ever successful, documented storm chase.
