Current GFS suggests mean CET would stay in the 15 to 15.5 range to about Saturday 19th then could slowly rise with the mean from 20th to 31st looking closer to 17.5 or 18. This would suggest an outcome of about 16 to 16.3 C.

I can see it happening, simply because it would totally ruin any chance of getting an unusually cool August. Got to cram in as many sub-15C Augusts as we can, before it's too late!

In the 30 years since the very cold August 1986, sub 15C Augusts have been few and very far between.  So few Infact that there was only 2 in 1993 and 2014.  Even if its not too late, I highly doubt I'll live to see another sub 15C August.

No change here but should go up in the next few days unless get some cold nights which isn't really on the cards. Suspect we will be up to 15C by the weekend.

15.3c to the 15th, 0.6c below the 1981-2010 average.

Some more rises likely in the next couple of days however Friday/Saturday are looking below average.

Bang on the local average here at 16.3°C; the warm nights here on the coast at this time of year responsible for the difference above the CET.

I've only just started to record daily temps here (since 12th).

So far we are averaging 16.9c with average low of 12.2c and high of 21.6c.

Pretty close to the average for this part of the world in August.

A warm up is now expected, which will push the CET value to bang on average against the 61-90 mean come middle of next week I suspect, thereafter, it looks like a fairly average end to the month, perhaps a little warmer than normal thanks to mild nights, so a return slightly above the 61-90 average looks probable, but with downward adjustments we might just might scrape in below - we shall see. Whatever, though it will be the first month since January to record a mean very close to the 61-90 average...

Sunny Sheffield down to 14.9C -1.5C below normal. Models still switching around so still too early to guess finally figure.  Just looked at the latest GFS and it still shows some cold nights and cool days I'm guessing Sunny Sheffield finishing around 15.3C
