As expected, More landfall and BOOM!

Think cape is meant to be fairly steady overnight so should see some major booms

So the current state of play for me seems to be that the Hampshire storm will miss to the NW, but the non electrified rain near Brighton does seem to be heading my way. There was a nice breeze earlier but it's all now gone very still...

anyone here know any good viewpoints along the a34?

Between Newbury and Didcot. Either the East Ilsley or Chilton interchanges will take you to ridgeway views. It looks like the cell is pivoting and moving more N/NW to me (tho I might've been staring at the screen for too long)!

Sat on the cliffs in Bournemouth as storm went over, now sat near ringwood unsure whether I should keep with this storm / mess or wait for new hopefully more isolated storms....

What you recon?

I'm hoping for a few more isolated storms later when it starts to get dark, but I think that is it for me today, was fun while it lasted, and had a couple of very close strikes, oh and a leaking roof, you win some you loose some.

Beeb is forecasting a swathe of storms across the Midlands/Pennines into the midnight hours. More coming into the west off the Irish Sea into tomorrow afternoon.

Got a visual on lightning now. The view to the south south west is quite poor from my house, marred by a thick tree line, but orange flashes seen over the top of it. Thunder getting more frequent and louder now.

Looking like a certain bust in Worthing looks like I'm sandwiched either side of the action, even the rain will boycottt here

Lightning activity has picked up markedly in the last half hour. So this is it, let the fun and games begin (for some).

Is it me or is this heading a bit more Northwards? My guess

I thought that too. Looks like the cell is pivoting(but it could be my tired eyes!)

I hope it moves more towards the North, I have a feeling I'll miss out on the action again by a few miles : /

My little girl is terrified right now! I've just come in from tidying the toys up.

It might not work with your wee'un, Beka...But I took mine to the window (when she was one!) and told her to watch for the pretty lights...?:D

Sitting under dreary cloudy windy conditions here. Not feeling particularly conducive I have to say.

Has the earlier MCS scuppered us...time will tell. Far too early for me to flying any white flag yet.

Thanks for the suggestions. Looking at the radar loop though, it seems to be heading more north at this point due to the rotation. I'm still not so sure, though - it's a tough one to call..

Worth keeping an eye on that absolute mass of stuff off the coast of Cornwall, slowly trundling N/NE

If the Hampshire storm turns to the north then I will be going out to intercept it. If it doesn't, and continues to head towards NW London and East Anglia then I will await the storm now heading towards Dorset.

That channel cell could grow on to be a monster because of the discreteness of it and unhindered by any other mess.
