It would be awesome if the line could develop just a little further south too as it spreads east.

Lightning activity a bit quiet now, not had much plus the heaviest rain is now to out east, can see a tiny bit of brightness across the sea with a line between the clouds

Ominous looking clouds in the distance with the odd flash of lightning.

Most of the lightning for now has been over Wales, Lancs, and Cumbria where the line has crosses the hills and mountains. Maybe this lower-side of the Pennines might give it a extra kick convection-wise as it hits the slopes.

Yeah, its been rather quiet atm for a lot of us since the last few strikes, might see some again tomorrow, looked like the skies were clearing to my NW near Grange but its trying to cloud over again

One or two sharp cells have broken out ahead of the main line.

Right over me in Leyland. Came outta absolute nowhere. Heavy rain, 3-4mm hail and some really loud rumbles from a number of CG strikes. That moved off with very impressive looking skies in between, strikes from both sides of me, west and east as the 2nd line approached. Mostly IC but some cracking rumbles, no hail and only moderate rain considering what it looked like on radar. Properly took me by surprise as I had no idea there was anything even remotely forecast for this evening. When I looked at BBC at lunch it was rain this morning, sunny intervals this afternoon and then just clouds overnight. Moderate rain from some high level clouds now the main band has passed, but I can see the clear skies behind very clearly. I guess I'm just under the anvil?

Nice little storm before as the squall line past, got soaked on the way back from the beach. I didn't set my equipment up to record though as it wasn't forecast, just rushed to the beach. A bit gutted about that.

Might not get one this year at this rate!

I was thinking the same thing. Surely it would be virtually unprecedented to go almost 2 years without a rumble?!

The lightning-drought continues here, although the garden plants got a good watering so that's one less thing to worry about tomorrow.
