Ok I have created the radar as it was still in time on the V7. 3 speeds, first 3 with a circle highlighting the area I think indicates rotation (brightest echo taking a right turn also possibly a hook on the southern edge could be it instead?) and the last 3 without in order to not be distracted :)

The reflectivity radar features you're looking for would be charactersic of a supercell tornado. Funnels of the last few days look to be non supercelluar so wouldn't exhibit those broader scale features. If only we had access to dopplar radar because we could then see these smaller scale rotations.

I must add I'm saying this from you're pics, I can't see you're radar animation on my phone, so I may be wrong.

I think it's all over folks. White strikes have gone from the lightning radar and now any solar heating is done so I think that's all for today.

Still plenty of big showers about though

Had a pulse storm here at 6.20pm. Heard one rumble (one solitary strike confirmed on radar) and looked out to see dark skies to my west and heavy rain literally 50 metres away and could actually see it rapidly moving towards me. :yahoo:A few seconds later there was torrential rain right above, which lasted about 5-10 minutes. Enjoyed watching and seeing it pound down.

A very intense shower just clearing here at my parents just SW of Ashford in Kent

Before (looking north) with radar

Some images from today, of the small cell that produced one rumble and then went off the Suffolk coast to increase in intensity early afternoon. Among the clouds and to the side I spotted some lenticular cloud formations, something I have not seen often around here. Very pleased to have seen them even if they did move and dissipate very quickly, as the pictures show. Kept watching the low cloud, in case of any lowering, there was some updraughts but not much more.

All mention of storms dropped now, not that I thought there would be anyway, so that's probably it from me for a couple of weeks since I'm off to Crete on Tuesday morning. If anything happens there I'll let you know in the European thread, but at this time, it's just looking like sun and mid 30's which is fine by me.

Hope you all get something during my period of absence :)

Hearing details of the damage in Cornwall from last weeks storms sounded suspiciously like tornado damage to me. Shame it was at night as there wont be many/any pictures of it to see if this was infact caused by a tornado.

Would that have been technically a Cornado?

When I go to Greece I tend to choose Corfu or the north Aegean islands as I get a good view of the inland convection and storms and sometimes when a more organised trough forms it also affects those islands. Crete however is just cloudless for most of the summer.

Have fun and take it easy in the sun. The Greek sun is fierce now.

So far as I can remember the damage in Cornwall was caused by torrential afternoon storms which remained and continually developed over the same location (Coverack) for several hours. Nothing of a tornadic nature had any mention.

I wasn't mentioned, but I strongly suspect looking at the nature of the damage it was caused by a night time tornado (the damage was reported the following morning).

I was just going to mention where has this all come from? I just checked my local forecast and it shows the thunder icon (on the bbc) and check radar (because there's some meaty looking clouds about here) and lo and behold there a storm building (and quite a few isolated cells developing too!)

Was this even forecast? Can't seem to remember seeing a storm forecast issued on here for today.....

Gonna be some serious flash flooding from these.

They are barely moving and monsoon kind of rainfall

Long time member, first time poster here. I agree with Lynux, this storm is hardly moving. Steady rain getting heavier here in brockworth, Gloucester. Nice to finally get some flashy bangy weather!!
