Intense shower just a mile or two north of me but nothing here. Very dark clouds as well.

Odd looking, low hanging cloud base to my north. Fortunately sun poking through now to increase surface heating.

Very dark skies to the North not long ago, that produced some heavy rain and one flash of lightning (not seen or heard) just north of Chelmsford.

Looking to the NW now, seeing what may be a funnel cloud, but could also be scud. Hard to say. Must say it doesn't feel particularly ripe out there, but we shall see

That storm is rotating can see it very clearly!

I'm a little too far south to view this unfortunately, must be impressive!

Can confirm the thunder. My wife heard it was she was in the garden before it started to rain. Just stopped now. Was very heavy for a while, but son shining weakly through the clouds.

Kind Regards

Dave

anybody know if its possible at all to look back on the radar anywhere from yesterday afternoon? Funnel cloud over sea by Cromer at 5:30pm-ish and it'd be nice to see what it looked like on radar

Ok I have created the radar as it was still in time on the V7. 3 speeds, first 3 with a circle highlighting the area I think indicates rotation (brightest echo taking a right turn also possibly a hook on the southern edge could be it instead?) and the last 3 without in order to not be distracted :)

Just started raining heavily here but still no thunder

Edit: Damn it, I hate it when planes go over in this weather, I always think it's thunder!

Massive crack of thunder!

I'm looking towards Swanage, I can see clouds under the base moving right on one edge, and moving left on the other..

Same place, different day, different towers but sadly no storms.

Met O and BBC seem to fancy storms at 2-3am here. Must say I'm not convinced, since nowhere else is saying it, and BBC's map seems to totally contradict that. Not that I particularly trust them...

Just had a thunderstorm with some phenomenal rainfall, coming after yesterdays shower which also had two rounds of biblical rain. All of the thunder and lightning occurred as the storm approached with nothing after the rain started. The grass has gone from dry and brown to lush green in just four days after some extremely heavy rainfall in a short amount of time. And more rainfall forecast tonight! :D:D
