Yes mate,  Baiter car park looking out towards the ferry as the storm was sat out in the channel and moving towards Bournemouth, was a tad scary at times lol

Baiter used to be my old haunting ground for storms. That place was the first time I had ever seen a streamer with my own eyes - about 50ft in front of my car.

That ppn is building out west from here now, will it go bang?,maybe too late now in the day but last night got some humdingers in eastern england overnight so who knows, just need some rain to water the garden so i don't have to do it lol

maybe us unlucky ones may have to wait for the next period of plumes/convectiveness and just maybe this weekend might hold some interest, watch this space.

It rained quite a bit here but no thunder. There are loads of showers getting going so I would be surprise if you don't catch some by morning.

I don't know how FB does his, but i'm sure there's an app that does it, but you can do it online with multiple images taken from a video. I only realised that I had it built in to my phone, last night. I capture video in either FHD or UHD, then it allows you to create a 5 or 10 second rolling GIF, from any point on the video. The manual way to do it, would be to do the same recording (preferably UHD as you can grab 8MP stills) then use an online GIF creator to upload the images.

Could you hire Toto to sing: "I felt the rain down in Bedfordshire"? Couldn't resist :)

I shall also join the above posts in singing last night's praises. Best storm here for years, over an hour of frequent, incredibly bright lightning, as well as near constant thunder, not to mention the torrential downpours. Awesome.

Hopefully something similar occurs during the summer holidays so I can stay up and try and take some photos without worrying about being tired at school, although it will be a long time before anything like that happens here again.

I'm in Crete from 25th July-8th August though, be interested to see if anything happens then...

Any chance of a cheeky unforeseen MCS sneaking its way up from the channel?

;)
