Drizzle rules okay. What more do we want.

Well the storm drought continues, its now an entire year since we had an overhead storm!

Hoping that August or even September as it did last year can deliver something for us lot in the Midlands

Well you nicked all ours for the few years so time you had part of our drought as well. Anyway torrential drizzle as died away now and a rare glimpse of blue sky for today.

That's a bit extreme, i don't think we've had a decent storm here for more than 2 or 3 years now, i can't remember much since my op!

lol was just tongue in cheek. Really hope we can get something but can't see it now with all this stubborn cloud inhibiting our chances

I'm surprised you got nothing as another member reported, there was a decent storm heading northwards at about 4:30 and I don't think your location is all that far away, maybe it fizzled out or headed to far eastwards?

As for here, looks like that might be it, kind of feel you always wanted more but appreciate what I did get when you see how other areas completely missed out. As ever with storms, its the luck of the draw really, some places will get them, others won't.

just look at the radar we were a good 40 miles away from were the core was so not surprising really.

Well in the 8 years I've been living in Cumbria that was the best storm I've seen. Much better than the usual odd rumble then it's gone affair.

Yes...trying to summon up a bit of enthusiasm for the 62% chance for Birmingham this evening.... even though my most reliable forecaster 'Admiral Fitzroy' is having none of it

Cells firing up to our SW are encouraging though

Just on the edge of the very intense thundery outbreak, but still we managed a good hour or so of very heavy rain and some very potent bolts of thunder and lightening. Skies have cleared now.

There's a fragile line trying to develop from Cornwall/Devon up to South Wales, one to watch maybe, but it doesn't look too potent at the moment.

latest radar and lightening detector, most of the flashes and bangs across Cumbria but there are other showers breaking out all the time.
