Just watching back through my chase footage from last night and can see that the severe storm I encountered was in a little village called Balsham. I then chased the storm into the town of Newmarket. Looking back at the radars for the time I was there I can clearly see why things were so intense for a while with hailstones the size of 50p. A very localised but intense cell at the SW edge of the MCV.

Sadly, I can't get that link to work.

WOO HOO!! Distant Thunder!! :yahoo:

Looks like it's all kicking off again over the Dee estuary. :bomb:

Good luck everyone with this. :bomb::friends:

the storm shield is stronger than ever before! Hopefully it will eventually move West or East as they have had far more storms this year.

Yeah, that would be nice. I'm bored of this Storm Shield. It just doesn't want to shatter!

I think getting a marble to float on water seems more likely than us getting a storm (or snow) lol :/

Sadly, I can't get that link to work.

I've sorted it now.

Actual video of the storm chase is on its way but it is taking ages to upload to YouTube.

I'm confused to why we dont seem to be getting so many big storms now, years ago we used to get loads of big ones but now we only get the edges of them as they fizzle out or they go around us completely

Same as last time - too much cloud preventing convection from kicking off. It seems like every time there is a possibility for severe storms, we have way more cloud than forecast. We are cursed.

The clag is still about but it's shot up to 23*C with 69% humidity. Good work!

Was just about to post about how the sky has brightned but it's gone back to dull and murky and my windows 10 weather app is showing rain showers , of course the radar disagrees with it

If the showers over the Brecon Beacons can intensify then they have my name on them.

Wonder if we'll see more action tonight? Either way, it will be nothing compared to last night. Look at western Germany now!!! My lord!!

our storm has reached all the way to the shores of Denmark now! Remarkable.

Yet again that N Wales storm is just hugging the coast, that's been the story of this summer. Storms near the coasts, nothing in the middle....

So annoying isn't it?!!!

It's developed north of here. Looks like that prediction on southern NW England for the forecasters was out by 50miles or so.

A big breakdown here of light drizzle, story of this summer.

The fields are burnt more than I`ve seen since 2006.

It's a huge if. I honestly don't believe there will be a storm here now after it remaining cloudy, despite it being 22c and very humid with a dewpoint of 18c.

Looks like somewhere around Lancaster or Kendal will get a direct hit from the most active part of this storm.
