Uh... The cloud bases have suddenly started moving rapidly to the west over here. Strong inflow channel...?

Possible tornadic signature to cell now just north of Wimborne Minster but given elevated storm bases unlikely to be much at the surface. Probably.

Could this look to be the main event that the midlands need to look out for rather than the one from earlier?

The one from earlier, it's still going in bits and pieces, seems to have split in three but still producing thunder.

Wow I’m so jealous right now. That’s a whole lot of lightning.

Just nailed 2 career shots of Cgs hitting the Estuary between Kent and Essex - Was a tad hairy at times though

Definite dry-lightning in the Peaks, that's the second flash i've seen now looking towards Sheffield direction

It's moving much more to the East than it was earlier, the band from Brighton split across London, Essex and the far reaches of Kent now. Seems a lot weaker at the tail end, the end that resides towards Dorset way. Still some good Lightning coming in bits and pieces.

easyJet A320 just landed about 20-30 minutes ago into Gatwick and recommended to the others to delay the approach. Can imagine they was being thrown all over the place if they said that.

Still going I thought this sort of thing only happens in films in America it's the best I've ever seen and it's absolutely pouring down.

Where can you find this out?

Dunno if my eyes are playing silly buggers but I swear there's cloud building in from the direction of the Peterborough storm.

Well that was a rapid change, clearer skies moving in from the SW, lightning still flashing every second to my immediate East. What a contrast!

Cell from near Wimborne did pass not far to west of here, but most of the lightning was obscured by a possible wall cloud. Result was like when someone has a TV showing a fast-paced action movie next door at night and the curtains are drawn.

Signing off for the night. A decent event but only half what 2014 managed on each of its two occasions. Clearly though I was within just 20 miles of a biblical deluge and absurd amounts of overhead lightning :shok:

Just been woken up as well as probably millions of other people in the capital. The thunder in this thing is incredibly loud!

A few hours ago you couldn't hear a thing from these strikes yet now it is booming like few other storms I've ever seen. Any reason why?

It's forecast to connect with the surface. Most of the time it's been elevated

Feels like Reading might just miss this one, Lightning all around to the North, East and South but seems to be distant enough to not actually go straight over.
