Nice, but I think it will arrive at the Norfolk/Suffolk border and pass out :D

It's keeping it's intensity so you will get what we have enjoyed, I'm sure :-). This cell developed west London 3 1/2 hours ago, pushed up through Harlow onto us. Paul Sherman enjoyed this storm a while ago in Great Dunmow. I reckon 02:00 for you ;-)

that first storm is teasing me, so below leics it sharply moved east, and now its moving north again as if it deliberately wanted to avoid me.

Not sure if much lightning is in the one close to us either : P

That Theta W Plume really is holding these storms together. 3 hours ago I had a temp of 19c and dp of 16c now showing 20c Temp and 17c Dp. With the aid of the trough you can see why this is a special event down on the south coast

Hmm, wonder if it's really active enough? Might give it a go. ooh just seen lightning to the west rather than the south! That's the third flash in 2 hours. And a rumble of thunder! Madness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now do I go out for my 2nd chase of the night to my favoured spot overlooking the Estuary looking south ?? Or bed it and watch it land ?

Wow this storm sounds like it has a lot of energy! Don't get storms like this very much round here.

Roaring over the south downs !

Cells to the left of me, cells to the right of me. And NOT ONE bothers to come near me! Lazy lightning, rain and, to be frank, not a lot special happening around the Gatwick / Redhill area. There are still flights heading in, though now routing around a storm cell to the south-east.  To be honest, I've seen worse storms on Jackanory. I wish this would pep up a bit.

Oops! Loud rumble of thunder. Maybe it is?

Trying to listen out for distant thunder but efforts hampered somewhat by the RAF down at Odiham taking their chinooks out for a bit of night flying. Still some very vivid lightning. The theme seems to be orange to the east, white to the south east and blue to the south.

This looks like a sample starter before the mains. The radar is not picking up the constant strikes from the south but it's every 20secs. And look what's to come. Londoners get ready see you on the other side.

Your Dunmow storm is still tootling towards me and still reasonably active, one or two strikes every 20 seconds (as opposed to the 20 every second down south haha) Might take a 10 min drive to my 360 degree viewpoint in half an hour or so if its still worth it.

Finally! Some rumbles. And some good ones at that.
