Starting to see a fair amount of lightning off to the east at the moment. It's quite cool here at the moment too.

Can anyone confirm if they just heard Thunder towards Heathrow sort of way, Lightning Map has a couple of strikes a lot closer to home than I expected.

I could tolerate another storm, if that stuff on the South Coast wants to make an appearance.

I saw lightning off in that direction a few minutes ago. There's a lot of lightning to my east, so your south east. Can't hear any thunder for definite yet, may have heard a very, very distant rumble before but not sure.

No point dragging the night out for us in the NW, i'm getting a few more hours of shut-eye and cooling the PC down as the CPU fan is struggling with the inside heat at the moment.

Even louder thunder now and very heavy rain just started. 5mm so far in less than 10 minutes.

Defo getting closer here now, funny feeling it will not be stalling this end, like with the rest of the south coast.

Possibly but my view to the west is blocked by a thick tree line so can't confirm. Some great flashes to the east, very bright and orange in hue.

I don't think that I have ever witnessed a storm in the U.K. With such frequent lightning. Amazing spectacle!
