Considering going out to chase but only just came on and don't have time to read through to find where may be a good target... willing to travel to an hour or 2 south, do I head sw/s/se, any quick help would be much appreciated!!!

Lincoln way, big skies...you don't want to get near the MCS,,too much rain, watch it from the outside

A rather good show in Dunstable, constant rumbles, steady rain and some cracking lightning close and afar. I shall now snuggle up with a book soon, with the curtains wide open, I can see more over the trees upstairs.

Nowhere to be seen yet reaching the south coast by 0100 then I’d expect it to go boom. :bomb::D

Is it the Trough what is setting those storms off in the channel currently?

Look like we may see a new area of storms developing over the English Channel as another 'surge' of the high theta-w plume spreading out of France interacts with shortwave, shown by dark stripe on WV image below:

storm development may focus along theta-w plume 'axis' , shown by streamlines on chart below, as the plume spreads north overnight

Jees. Do I drive to the coast, sit it out here for a bit .. channels kicking off but I'm not sure if that'll translate to storms firing over land in the next few hours. Damn weather!

Must admit dont know what its like elsewhere but here its 66/60f and it feels really unthundery with a keen east north easterly wind.

I concur with that summary - positively freezing outside!
