I completely agree about the rain part, once it hits it's game over when it comes to taking photos, I'm about to head out, and hopefully get some nice footage, good luck

Keep us all posted if you catch anything on the horizon! Its a late dinner this evening.....

Nothing fell from the sky, so not anoprop your right, but evaporating on the way down.

I was under a moderate shower that was showing yellows to orange on radar and nothing touched the surface,i think it was the one that i posted the funnel cloud on that day

Been underneath this thunderstorm in Reading for about 45 minutes now, almost 20mm of rain in the last half an hour or so according to the Uni observatory and there's about 4 inches of water trying to make its way into my flat. Looking at the radar it looks like there's still a lot more to come!

Just seen dozens of strikes here but most are west over High Wycombe....as per usual nothing directly overhead but there's a good light show outside....the strikes are more so flashes though and thunder is quiet(ish)

My guess this big chuck maybe the big event but it will continue NNE in direction and could grow and be quite an eventful night for many?

No your incorrect, all day we have been saying that that feature is not the main event it's what will develop afterwards as the trough moves north eastwards across C/s England. I could see why you would think tht but keep an eye on the radar as something big is going to happen.

Can see sunlit anvils to my south in the far distance.

All of a sudden we have a VERY interesting  sky - looking turbulent ,copper glow with black edged clouds . We will see . Will try and upload picture of it .

I think there is too much traffic on here for it to upload

Must admit dont know what its like elsewhere but here its 66/60f and it feels really unthundery with a keen east north easterly wind.

Just had a cracking CC flash to the north. Seems to be really kicking off on the back edge now.

Yep, was expecting tonight to be really uncomfortable but it's not. But here we are with frequent rumbles in the distance...

Looking like its on a collision course straight for the likes of Cambridgeshire/Northants and perhaps S Lincs/W Norfolk! Here's hoping it holds out.

Oh yes, would be a massive bonus considering the East wasn't favourable for storms in earlier forecasts!

Will be dark too so may get a good light show later.
