Next area of Interest is the line stretching from South of London to West of Brighton, this line should go bang east of the MCS

Just seen this on Twitter of one of the main roads in and out of Southampton.

O/T, but I'd wager part of the chaos on Southampton roads is caused by c*cksockets taking pictures and tweeting on their phone when driving :wallbash:

Doubt as far east as here though, guess we'll see if anything but rain happens.

The growing cells to my South look like a better chance - just as it gets darker too. Fingers crossed!

That MCS is really wrapping up now, with main ppn bowing north - it's teasing me! Tempted to chase but i feel like it'll suddenly change course again.

Tell me about it. I can't work out if the thing is going to rotate so we catch it, or just clip the edge of it! Currently the latter

Actually going to keep an eye out very soon for distant flashes! This thing is intensifying as its moving NNE. Note, some real rapid potent developments once more over the Channel Islands/Cherbourg and a corker over Lyme bay heading up towards Dorset!

This is more like it folks!!

Dont think we will get anything

Rain has perked up again. Wizzing it down outside at the moment and some very vivid flashes to the east and north east.

First distant rumbles at Guildford at 8:34 pm and 8:40 pm. Unstable looking base to AltoStratus layer.

very interesting seeing what's going on down south.

I can categorically say there will be nothing up here, based on countless experiences of such setups over the years, but with flooding on Cornwall and the south coast, it certainly is a strong plume of air.

Very frustrating - skies are menacing but it's just shrouding the activity over W/SW London

Are we still saying more stuff through the night or is the big chunk over S England at the moment the main event?
