Screen shot from the latest BBC forecast at 3am, looks like more organised storms will head Eastwards

took at face value and the middle of England might miss out or at least not get the worst of yet but still time yet for other outcomes

I'm quite intrigued by the fact lightning is being recorded up by Southampton, Fareham, The New Forest and now back by the Isle of Wight, very widespread compared to earlier though not regular, is that because the rain aspect is growing heavier?

Pressure must be dropping, my nerve pain has been getting worse all afternoon, not has pain for such a long time... Although looking at the chart the storms are slowing up and fizzling out!

Beautiful sky with this incoming band of light showers. If only it would do something!

All it needs for us is just to move a little further North, it would be great if we get some lightning displays though like in 2015 when we had no thunder or rain

Another close strike this time with a deep thud like sound that felt like it shook the ground.

Great stormy clouds! Been watching the Western edge of the cell moving over the Bournemouth area. Wonderful textures and colours and a very animated, but fractured roll cloud which passed over just before this photo was taken.

Humidity creeping up here over the past hour or so. Still a fair breeze pumping in some that extra juice :D

So, where does round 2 start?

I supose, if that high theta-w is arcing round towards bristol over the south, we wait for further destabilisation and all hell to break loose - the short wave moving in should throw plenty of areas of vertical lift across the area. I wouldn't be disheartened at the moment - most stuff is forecast to be above the boundary layer tonight. Fingers crossed!

A lot of distant thunder here, local road is flooded, the burst of rainfall 10 minutes ago was crazy... I couldn't see outside my window!
