Thats fizzled out the bad news is after this lot there isn't any activity to the west. I suspect whats going over now will do the honors 50 or 60 miles to east of us.

Glad I didn't get my hopes up too much. No storms for Leeds. Sorry @Harsh Climate but it's a bust.

The thing is it hasn't even started yet, anything of any significance anyway.  Anything now could just explode in the north sea/north wales or north west england and spread to us. Nor has the expected convergance zone set up yet for central northern england.

This will probably be like those massive manchester storms a few years back, where we went from nothing to 100strikes a min in 15 mins

Working tonight. However, these storms are zipping past at a rate of knots, so chasing them would be a nightmare! Don't think you'd have a successful one without bending some of the rules with speed limits!! Be careful, those who catch a lucky one, some big hail likely, which was estofex' main concern.

See, patience is a virtue folks! It's a waiting game half the time.

look north forecast says you are in a good place to see storms tomorrow, we are due to miss them here

well that was boring, 4 or 5 very very distant rumbles , which were hardly noticable over the ambient noise , and few spots of rain added to the excitement :nonono:

This wind map is worth keeping an eye on two, for central northern england we are nearly in the predicted convergance zone with warm air from the south east meating cooler air from the west. We want those SW arrows to line up against the SE arrows.

I respect your opinion but I think you are calling it far too early. It's not like we have big storms over us orjust to the east, about to batter east yorkshire is it?? Pretty much peanuts has developed so far and I remain quietly confident.

Well all of the sferics have all but disappeared now from the lightning detector.  Appears to have died a death!  Can anything else initiate?  We'll see...
