Poorly modelled showers moving into NW Eng, *could* increase risk of TS later, due to higher dew points, this zone still main region by eve. H/t Matt Hugo

We are just into that now Knocks , only the largest raindrops are making it to ground with the rest re evaporated on the way down? You can see veils of rain falling at height but , as I say, not much on the ground? That said I have just taken my washing in!!!

This is the current state of the sky here.

Yes the sun is out, but it's a milky sky... Very, very humid and sultry.

Yes a few strikes just to my North at the moment over the North York Moors.

Hopefully just doing a test run before the main event later!

Are France forecasted any storms today - and if so, could they cross the channel up into the South or would the cap kill them?

I'm taking it Bristol would be pretty much ruled out of this at the moment then?

Metoffice warnings are away from here but it's another very hot, very humid and cloudless day here.

Looking on sat24, expecting some sferics soon near the isle of man, look how quickly the cloud is building there.

temp around 27c here but very low humidity, had a few spots of rain earlier but that has cleared to milky blue skies, no storms forecast for here as it all looks to be further north but you never know.

I'm just up the road in Glossop and it has skyrocketed after a brief shower, radar still showing rain but i think it may be evaporating on the way down or something

i love being in a weather warning area, then look more locally and there is no rain/storms in the forecast whatsoever, haha

28 degrees a few minutes ago with hazy sunshine. Just got back from Rhyl where the windscreen on our car got hit by a few massive raindrops, a portent of things to come I think.
