Beautiful storm going off north of MK. Not quite sure how far but it was producing in-cloud lightning at a very regular basis about 15 minutes ago.

Probably the storm north of Peterborough.

Well this turned out far more active then I anticipated... maybe 2017 isn't a cursed year for storms after all. It definitely wasn't a write off to the south of the M62

Hope all those who were in the right place caught some good storms and cloudscapes.

It's incredible stuff at the moment. Looks like a little daughter cell is forming near Bourne now! This is a back builder alright!

This site shows rain again possibly for Lincoln around midnight, whether it happens or not and whether it'll be thundery is another matter.

Well that cell died rather dramatically, but what slipped my attention is some very light showers building back over near Derby and Birmingham. As we can see its still capable of starting storms out there from the new storm building directly below these lot.. do you lot think these could potentially become something and effect the east later on tonight/early tomorrow morning?

I've noticed the showers near Derby as well, dont think they'll do much though the screen shot I posted shows precipitation for Lincoln later and early hours before 2am, though not as much cape

Well, no storms this time around, just hot & sunny. There's some beautiful Altocumulus rolling in, to end the day.

I always get shouted down when I say this, but anywhere NE of Milton Keynes gets more action than most

You got it! Been saying it for years.....and I agree with the poster who said "South Lincs storm capital UK."

Lincolnshire time after time has had some whopping thunderstorms in the last few years (and proper British storms not those French imports they send us which die over the channel!)

I think that's our lot for another few days.

this regular disappointment is actually affecting my love of storms - I just can't get excited about them anymore . I feel cursed:

nothing overnight last night

Short lived cell this morning just too far north of Maidstone for me to see it

the cell north of London faded as it approached me

the cell to the south of that turned southward and moved away from me and died

the cells firing this evening refused to build any further south than Peterborough or I would have seen them and been able to reach them in time

the peterborpugh cell turned eastwards after starting southeastern (so moved away from me) edit: then it too died

i AM NOT driving to kings lynn, yet the storm there is carrying on fine (You know what would happen if I went there anyway)

I'm not happy, in fact I'm quite sad I just want to see ONE storm!

Its not like I sit at home on my a r s e all day - been chasing the bloody things all over the south east this afternoon!

AAAAAAAAAaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhh!!!!!

(that actually helps!)

flashes that seem like they're overhead currently but they're across over in Boston! Insane!
