On the combine tonight and something is brewing in front of me here in Stamford looking west

That would be the cell currently passing over Corby, NE of Kettering, which has intensified quite rapidly during the past half-hour.

Actually give amw the hump when I've just looked at the live lightening radar and i see all that potential dumped in the sea, no good to anyone there...and as is usual france gets most of the decent fun weather.

what a complete anticlimax today.

Gives me hope :)

They might pick up quite a bit as they head towards the North Sea before dying down again. Hopefully they're not just heavy showers with one or two flashes lol

Finally out of the 'no storm 2017' club, CG lightning and heavy rain for the last 20 mins or so. Mrs was videoing on her phone so hopefully might have a couple of lightning shots.

What!  West midlands does well for snow  and thunder compared to other parts.  El Brumo  etc  i have also seen snow every year for the past 10 years.

Well today I've seen nothing, to me today looks like East is doing better, assume you've seen storms

Which direction was the wind going over there? We still have a backed sultry SE flow here. This is well known to be associated with severe stuff!
