The skies are clearer now than they have been all day but that might be a good sign.

Seems to be a slowdown in lightning rate and looks like it's lost some intensity on radar. :cc_confused:

Very dark to the West now but sadly it's all going North and not towards me.

Dependent on where you are in Derbyshire, the cell just gone up near Stoke may be of interest. Too far north for me, but looks to head towards Chesterfield. Nothing of note yet but could develop into something.

I take back what said earlier I think we might poss have something incoming. haha

Surely I didn't just hear a distant rumble?!

Edit: No, it was a plane :(

Those towers from an hour and a half ago have since combined and shot up into a massive, dark cb that just produced a faint rumble a few minutes ago. However, it's all to my north west so once again it's developed here, will drift away to Essex and then ignite. :wallbash:

Edit - and as I type, another faint rumble. I'll take what I can get. :)

Absolutely loving this convective display. Look - dual pileus caps, that's definitely a first for me.

@Windblade if you're hearing thunder it means the convective train in theory is getting closer yay

Yes it's all going north of here too, unfortunately. That seems to happen so often, sadly.

Been quite underwhelming so far. Great convection most of the day and some very bubbly developments over the last few hours but starting to lose hope for storms today. Second half of the year and not a single good storm here.
