If Lincolnshire is to get anything then it will be this evening, and there is a higher chance there than there is here. In fact, I am contemplating driving into Lincolnshire as I cannot find a single reliable forecast that shows a storm here now.

Possibly, I'll post a picture of what the sky looks like shortly

Sadly not in my area it seems. I doubt it'll even rain let alone thunder. :wallbash:

Scattered storms seem to be breaking out on the other side of pennines, not sure we'll get anything decent this side.  Shame really, it's been almost the perfect build-up with sunny skies leading to decent temperatures.

Still loads of Acas round here, and some developing towers to the north tucked in behind the storm now exiting Norfolk

Looks like a Derbyshire export is heading over to you.  No thunder yet... did you put it on the order?

There's some good chat about the role of acCas in today's Synoptics over at UKWW - sounds like it's not always a good thing to have around if it lingers for too long.

What we all need now is CUMULUS!

Skies definitely building here. Looking on xc weather at the wind directions there appears to be convergence from Newcastle down towards the peak District. This ties in with the latest radar where the showers are forming then drifting east. East of A1 from south Yorkshire northwards would be my guess at most likely areas for storms.

Lincs is suspiciously quiet. Things should go bang soon, seen asthis area seemed to be the main area of focus on the tv forecasts.

Sun just gone in for the first time today. Rapid cloud development taking place, including a little bit of cumulus and even a very small bit of Kelvin Holmhotz! Suddenly feeling more optimistic.

More cumulus here to your east-south-east.  It appears that the cells that emerged as a single shower earlier are weakening - maybe the atmosphere here is slightly more stable now?

That's the one the sferics are just coming from? See convection blooming over the other side of the Pennines 27c here and very humid...

Cloud building quickly here over Northamptonshire/Bedfordshire, was clear blue skies about an hour ago with very high temperatures! Something tells me there may be more to come this evening.

Lincs is always suspiciously quiet. Not had a single rumble this year yet.

It isn't! Very few showers about at the moment.

Still hopeful we can import something from N France this evening. So warm here, lots of convective activity in the clouds but no rain or storms yet!

Distant rumbles now. Think it's from the storm just north east of Barnsley

Quick developments north of London by the looks of the satellite, with some of the cloud tops casting shadows I would expect some action there this afternoon. Also that MCS over NE France is a beauty, people in Kent should be having their eyes right on it!
