Sun's out again, had nice afternoon trying to stay in front of and parallel to the storms, foiled by tractors and annoying artic who wanted to park on my favoured viewing spot (hrummph!). Got some CGs on vid though, bit cross as seem to have lost all my camera filters with and ideal opportunity to try for some daytime lightning :nonono:

Very lively here ATM - IC strikres nearly overhead, pistol crack thunder and now torrential rain.

Sigh. After all that waiting and excitement (as well as some incredible cloudscapes) we got nothing. It all stayed in the channel.

Must say I'm beginning to wonder now. There was a well defined anvil off to the east a little earlier, but that went off into the distance without doing anything. No convection around now. Not over till it's over but really losing hope now.

Just a shame it's not evening/dark outside otherwise the tops of the cells out over Norfolk would be lighting up on the horizon here. Got a good vantage-point seeing it all bubbling 144mi away from my height. But only a tall tower exploding upwards in the Sheffield direction is the only indication of anything happening here.

The amount of cumulus clouds have increased over the hour, as visible on satellite - so that's somewhat promising. Going by xc, it looks like convergence is establishing over the SE up through lincolnshire, where easterlies meet westerlies.

Amazing that you can see them from where you are (lovely area you're in!)

It's been a decent afternoon reading this thread, I'd like to contribute more but as usual there's nothing going on here to add to it and looks like staying that way.
