During the 28th the weather was rather humid, but there were no signs in our part of the approaching chaos that was to hit the hythe/kent area that night, even though the forecasts warned of possible storms. By late evening about 10pm, I could hear rumbles and decided to look outside to see if it was a Thunderstorm or just some old person putting the bin out. Sure enough from then on, it turned from the odd flash, to strikes and flashes every few mins. One of the most amazing storms I have ever seen in my life. What was really gutting though, was I didn't have a fully charged camera and missed out on many strikes that not only knocked our power out, but set car alarms off!

Great footage! Had very similar scenes here as the storms on early Saturday morning were arriving, before the lightning became rain-wrapped and just appeared as sheet lightning. How long did the storms go on for in your location?

Great video Neilsouth. This is the storm I chased into Essex but I just didn't get down far enough to catch the best of it once it took a NE turn. Some great pulsing strikes and crawlers though and a good start to the season for you :good:

Probably because not many have seen it yet. It has only been on here for 3 hours and with no real convective weather on the way until at least Friday you will probably find a lot of the storm fans have not even been on this forum to see it.

My opinion of the flow for next few hours, London has some joy.
