Temperatures were a good six degrees down on the forecast overnight min values. A hazy sunny start but high cloud rapidly moved in preventing any warmth to keep the approaching decaying front alive. A brief spell of light rain at home but heavier elsewhere. Sun now out and finally turning humid

Temp 18.7C low 12.3c, Barometer 1007mb falling, Wind D2 NE, Rainfall 0.4mm

Went to Beverley this morning much hotter in Beverley than at home. Had a light shower in Beverley just before lunch, then sun came out, very humid when we left. Fresher and 17C at home.

Missed the heavy thunderstorm here but 3 miles down the road some lightning and thunder with torrential rain off and on for 20 minutes, displey filed had a few acres of standing water when it ended; visibility at one time barely 1000 metres, just 7.4 mm here, at least no need to water the pots tonight, that looks to have fallen in about 10 mins with 292 mm per hour at its maximum!

I'd have thought you guys John and Polar would have had storms.  We tried brewing you some here. Most notable thing today was the wind.

A mixture of mostly cloudy and sunny spells. There was a brief spell of light rain around midday giving 0.2mm, but thunderstorms missed us to the east early in the morning and to the west in the afternoon. The wind has since increased and been accompanied by a large temperature drop. The maximum temperature of 26.8C was the highest at this site since my records began in 1980, beating 23rd May 2010 by 0.1C. It was extremely humid aswell with a high dewpoint of 19.2C.

Max Temp: 26.8C
Min Temp: 13.2C
Mean Wind: 19mph S
Max Gust: 29mph
Sunshine: 9.2hrs (at 18:00 BST)
Rainfall: 0.2mm

Currently 19.0C and mostly cloudy with a strong southerly breeze.

Cloud increased again early in the afternoon but produced nothing more than a few very light showers although there was a noticeable drop in temperature after about 1430 g.m.t.
