April 1968 was when we sowed the outside of one field and then the snow arrived and when the snow finally went and the ground was dry enough to sow again about fourteen days later the barley had germinated and emerged under the snow and half the field was green. There was not a fourteen day gap at harvest but the later sown barley had a lower yield.
