I'm also a Liverpool fan Chris ;)

Thank goodness, I’m not alone . :-) What with last night‘s result and all this snow potential i’m feeling good at the moment.

Btw temp currently  8.3°C, dp 3.9°C. Once the dp goes negative it’s game on.

It is him when I  met him  in LimeStreet. Might change that to a more relevant picture anyway  lol

Anyone any thoughts on whether a polar low could still develop or are the 500 mb temps not low enough any more? There still seem to be some -41s around.

It looks like us to the west may well dip out on the sunday, is that a reflection on what will probably happen tonight? of course, tonight we will get nothing also.

Also I will be emailing the meto to change there warning from "yellow snow" to "snow yellow" as they are clearly taking the biscuit

A Frank Zappa song comes to mind :)

The Irish sea is already generating some hefty showers! If only we had the cold air already in place.

Lets hope the theme of generation carries on through the night!

Jesus, yeah the Irish Sea is very alive today isn’t it!

Looking good for 5-10cm here I think!

Predictions: Snow 20 miles inland. Hail anywhere westwards of this line. Very unstable flow- not often coastal/semi-coastal places see snow from this kind of setup.

Evaporative cooling will be massive though if we see the intensity of the showers currently sat in the Irish Sea. Jesus.

Neither was I, but it's nice to add more excitement to life even if it doesn't come to fruition.

At work in runcorn currently and just seen a snow plough go by. Never seen one of those here before. A good omen.

Looking a bit rubbish here - too far north and east and then the dreaded SE wind on Sunday creating a rain/snow shadow, looks like a rare occasion when south and western parts of the region could fare better.

Yep the weather Apps are already downgraded the intensity for Sunday.... one we get within 48 hours it will mostly be light snow. (depending on the track)

I've seen them up and down the M56 lots of times during the winter, they use them for gritting.
