Like so many times over recent winters, we seem to be in a no mans land here.

reminds me of a well known Stealers Wheel song

"showers to the north of me, showers to the south.

here I am, stuck in the middle with nowt"

anyway early start tomorrow so with nothing happening, that's it for me tonight.

I'm sure they are not the words

A trough can't have a mild sector in it as it's not a system of temperature boundaries.

Yes, was always going to be a trough, mostly of rain, the cold air is behind it

I did notice the dew temps around the trough were in the positive catagory so maybe it does have a slight mild sector in.

Your location is by the sea, guessing his is not.

Hearing some hail again at times, just never a consistant intensity sadly.

Graupel here, so that is frozen white stuff falling from the sky in November and December, anything else I now consider a bonus :)

You know somethings amiss when Halkyn in NE Wales gets rain off a torrential shower.

hmmm

Yet Jordan (Backtrack) is getting big flakes in Runcorn. FWIW there was a few flakes falling about half hr ago here when I went to the shop. Sleety flakes but flakes nontheless.

Well conditions are certainly ripe enough now, especially up near the Moorside area. After all the rain we now have a bit of a graupel dusting. NEED PPN URGENTLY :)
