Hopefully a blend of ECM, UKMO & GFS will have it further North and in reality we are the sweet spot. That's my hopecast anyway.

In my head i always assume any sliders will miss me otherwise you are normally more disappointed than happy. Yes, at the moment we are in the warning I remember a few years ago a stalling front stalled to our west at last min causing us to get a dusting rather than a proper dumping we had been warned about.

The only frustrating part about the MO thread is the personalisation of the slider, "It's better for me etc". It should be more just comment on it's position. Some models have shifted it south but others still keep it north so who the frigg knows! haha. Normally it does tend to shift south but lots of models still keep it quite far up north.

Well it would seem the Manchester Snow Shield is working perfectly, as expected!

Not all is lost, am about to drive to my parents in North Wales this morning to go Christmas shopping in Chester with my mum, looks like I should get to see a decent amount it there!!

Yep just confirms to me we need a westerly to get snow in Manchester.. a NW’ly doesn’t cut it!

What a turn around after 5am we got a decent covering... add in un-gritted roads and clear skys  before dawn = CHAOS. Been a while since Ive seen cars skidding all over and a big crash. Not sure how I got back up here on my scooter... back end went a couple of times. Squeeky bum time for sure.

I know, you should of seen the looks on people faces  when I went past, they actually looked scared for me. Learn't my lesson back in March when I lost it on black Ice and ended on morphine and a trip to the hospital with smashed ribs and broken hand. :p

Typically all shower activity is passing to my east and west.

As for Sunday zero confidence of anything, would not surprise me at all if the

Slider reaches the region and the rain shadow comes into effect,as per March 2013.

And 2 miles down the road gets battered.

Fells coated white, and we have a very slight dusting on building roofs. Lets see if we see some convection over the fells today, could be some lively homegrown showers - though wind direction not especially favourable for these parts - winds look like turning more westerly again overnight and more so through tomorrow, so if anything those who miss out today may not tomorrow.

Cheshire Gap streamers in evidence today I suspect, coastal areas look good for snow.

A wintry weekend ahead.
