Even if the forecasts hadnt moved the whole system way south, id still be worried because we have been in the cold air today and still only managed cold rain. Does anyone more knowledgeable know why it would be any different if this system from the south pushed up into this air as originally forecast?

Heavier ppn/evaporative cooling. That said, are you sure you only got cold rain in Chorlton? I have friends in Levenshulme and Trafford that got snow, even in the city centre. Here in Swinton we have a dusting again from this evenings showers!

I'll go up there. Thats about as good as I can make it.

Been up to the peak district today. Buxton had a bit of snow  bakewell and matlock nothing. Yet the hills around glossop were covered. ???

Too much negativity. Still expecting 5-10 cm. Anyway my gloves depend on it.

Its snowing but the snow is too light to stick here. Only takes just 5 minutes for the heavy snow to stick everywhere even on wet ground.

Yes the chorlton snow dome is extremely effective ? on the rare occasion that we get snow in manchester, I can wake up to nothing here and drive 2 miles into work and there will be snow on the ground.

Maybe i need to invest in some better loft insulation ?

Better give a status report on how much of your gloves you've digested too.
