The met office app has now updated and has changed the heavy snow all day tomorrow to light snow in the morning. I am in Bollington so not looking great anymore. Snow today though! Let’s enjoy

Seem to be right on the northern edge of this streamer at the minute, can only hope the centre widens. Although a bit of snow settling readily.

The band of snow looks like missing us in the main tomorrow, unfortunately, I'd rather be 100 miles distant of it, than about 20! - alas we may see a bit - will wait and see , it could easily nudge north a little more than predicted. Temps certainly won't be marginal.

So our best chance is today, winds are programmed to turn more southwesterly/westerly as the day wears on - so we may see some hefty homegrown showers this afternoon - fingers crossed, a couple of cm would do. Not much to ask?

Cumbria always seems to get the snow when no-one else does - we are a climate to ourselves, NW airstreams are generally no good, unless we have a trough/frontal feature, southwesterly/westerly unstable polar airstreams are a different matter - we can be buried!

Still nothing here.

Forecast still looks similar to yesterdays warning.

The Fylde is exactly on the frontal Northerly cut off

As for Cumbria........

Yes - At least there is the altitude factor thank goodness - we once went for Blencathra via Halls Fell Ridge a few years back - nothing  - although driving to the Langdale Valley it was buried in the stuff - microclimate in itself an interesting and difficult day :D

Looking good. Our current shower (south Manc) originated Blackpool and moved through Preston. A nice line of showers forming.

I'm not happy, in fact I'm quite sad missing me AGAIN

Looks to be a streamer setting up with the target being Glossop and Hadfield.

Light gentle flakes falling as I type but there looks to be a few more meatier courses on the way.

Yes it looks like anything coming through Preston should hit Manchester. Big shower imminent.

The fells are plastered white all over - is a christmas card scene though amounts are quite small. It looks superb against the blue sky. I'm confident we will see some snow showers later this afternoon and through the evening.

Looking at the radar, there are two distinct streamers, one from the Isle of man to Blackpool and the other North Wales into Cheshire. As the flow turns more westerly through the day, everybody will get a chance.
