Just to confuse matters the latest Met Office forecast is much further north than the euro4 with the snow getting so far north it puts the sweet spot across northern England and north Midlands, putting all of this/your region and myself in the heavy snow.

I think we need to wait a bit longer for this to be finalised. We definitely don't want any more shifts southwards though.

Well ECM is another nail in the coffin...

50 miles S of 12z run on the precip charts

I've seen enough...going bed!

Aprege looks good for a few hours of snow this afternoon/evening for much of the region.

Might get a coupe of cm here hopefully.

Maybe a couple of cm tomorrow with any luck but the way things are going it will just be a few flurries.

Bloody amber warning yesterday and probably no warning by lunchtime today- you gotta laugh really.

I have a large dumping of potential and no doubt I will have a load more by the time march comes.

A lot of throwing the towel in here..

This is the 00z GFS - it may still have this nailed. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/maps/GFSOPUK00_33_43.png

In other news there are snow showers approaching on Manchester and the temp is currently -1C with a DP of-3C.

Agreed I know from past experience we tend to expect a certain outcome, I still think there's a good chance the south of the region will do well tomorrow even if we're no longer ground zero.

It's only early December and it seems a lot more promising than recent years as well.

Well back to the here and now, those showers showing much more inland progression already, so hopefully a trend which will continue today if the Irish sea continues to provide the fuel.

Every chart I can get my hands on has no snow into Lancashire.

Ambrr warning will be removed shortly.

I’ll take the sledge back and tell the kids it’s a food shop at Aldi instead of building a snowman.
