Point is met office have before given red warings and nothing happens and give no warnings and we get deluged. Pure guesswork sometimes

I can remember one red warning in March 2013 and I was snowed in. Red warnings are pretty rare unless I have missed them. Last night the local forecast with data frok the met office seemed very accurate we just didn’t want to believe it.

I would be very surprised if it shifted too much. Modelling is much more advanced than it was 10 years ago. I would argue well remain in the sweet spot. After all it effectively starts tomorrow night

Agreed. Timing couldn’t be better either starting in the early hours.

Today gave me about what I was expecting to be honest.

I think me and you wil see significant snow on Sunday, maybe you slightly less than me as you are a bit further north.

To be honest, if it's heavy snow coupled with potential for strong winds (potential blizzard conditions) then there will be red warnings issued without a doubt tomorrow night

Lovely little trough for tomorrow on the latest Met Office fax chart!

Indeed it is, it's perfectly aligned to being a streamer through various points, meaning most places should see showers tomorrow.

Some didn't want to believe it so much so that anyone who dared doubt the snow was  told they where,  throwing their toys out of the pram, or where even embarrassing.

Yes, with the flow turning more westerly through the day the snow showers will start in the southwest of the region and then gradually extend further east and north.

I'm very much excited, to know that it will be cold for the next few days before this system arrives put us in a much better position than I have seen for many a year.

Its been a long while since I could definitely say that right now if any precipitation should pass my house then it will be 90% probability of snow. We all know there could and may be changes over the next 48 hours for better or worse but at least it's not a false hope, decent accumulations as it stands right now would make it to low levels on Sunday.

That is absolutely awesome!

Question. Does Manchester airport cancel there flights in advance of the amber weather warning? I'm catching a plane to Tenerife at 10AM Sunday.
